HOMEOWNER RESOURCES >> INSTALLATION DAY

To insure that your installation of your new products goes well, here are some helpful tips:

Before Installation:

• Have a clear understanding of the services that will be provided and be aware of those that you will be responsible for to ensure that all goes smoothly.
• Remove all personal items from the rooms where installation will be taking place. We don't want any of your valuable items to get misplaced or damaged.
• Make sure you have decided who is going to remove your old floor covering. The installer may do it, if not, you should make arrangements to have it removed.
• Make sure you have decided who is moving the furniture. If it is your responsibility, make sure you have allowed enough time before the installation crew arrives.
• Some new floor coverings may be thicker than the ones that were there previously. Measure door clearances to make sure that the new flooring will glide easily above the new products. Plan in advance to have someone shave or saw the correct amount off the bottom of doors so they don't drag or scrape your new floor.
• Paint first. If you're planning to paint or wallpaper the room, try to do it before the flooring is installed. Keep extra paint to touch-up any post-installation nicks.

During Installation:

• Try to be home on installation day, if at all possible.
• Expect that a quality installation is not necessarily a speedy installation. Allow the installation team to take their time and do their job with care.
• Inspect the materials along with the installer to make sure the proper products have arrived.
• Provide adequate temperature appropriate for installation. Carpet stretches best when the environment is warm.
• Let the installation crew know the rules of your home, where you want the refuse placed, what facilities they can use, where to park and what doors to use.
• Please keep children and pets out of harms way. Installation tools can be heavy, hot and/or sharp. It is better to practice safety at all times.

After Installation:

• Walk around the new installation with the installer. Now is the time to find anything that needs to be adjusted.
• Make sure that you have discussed the care and cleaning for your new floor covering products. Proper maintenance will provide you with a floor that looks great for many years.
• Should you have any questions regarding your new products, contact your Carpet Network dealer as soon as possible.
